Maiya Keck was born in Providence Rhode Island. She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in painting in 1992.
Maiya moved to Marfa, Texas in 1994. The restaurant opened in April 2002. Her restaurant experience includes: the Bluepoint Oyster Bar; and Al Forno, where she had the privilege of working with Maureen Pothier, Johanne Killeen and George Germon.
She currently lives in Marfa and recently opened a small grocery store, The Get Go.
On April 6th, 2015, Maiya’s celebrated its thirteenth year in business.
